I got turned on to these a few months back from a Fast Company article and have replaced almost all my non-exposed socket bulbs with them. I must admit that I did it more for budgetary than environmental reasons, but I think there is a lesson there: more people will become conscious of their impact on the environment when it costs them money not to.

Would it change your mind at all if I told you the CF bulbs have mercury in them that gets into the water system when the lights are disposed of?
