Everyone who will ever use Powerpoint should have to click through this before it starts

November 16th, 2007 · No Comments

.!. Personally I have been trying to avoid using Powerpoint, instead looking to Mind Maps, or just plane old notes. But despite my efforts, PPT seems to be the predominant attachment to every email that comes into my inbox. Maybe I should just give up on email? No there’s an idea! Well, until I do [...]

GTD: Not a complete system?

August 9th, 2007 · No Comments

An interesting post today on O’reilly about one of the limits of GTD: it doesn’t have a rule for deciding if you actually want to take on the work or not.  The up front filter asks the question “Is this actionable”.  Maybe if it were changed to “Do I want to do anything with this?” [...]

January 4th, 2007 · No Comments

While I have dabbled with Google Reader since the September update, I have as of the new year made the switch from NewsGator Online. I finally took the time to move over my most up to date OPML file and have most of my feeds synchronized from a read/unread perspective. A few reasons for the [...]

November 2nd, 2006 · No Comments

.!. I’ve written about another one of these before but this is a nice looking media converter that supports files up to 100 MB.  Not too useful for video, but picture and audio formats would work well on this. Zamzar – Free online file conversion

Google has done it again and released another killer app for the mobile platform.  This time it’s a small Java based app that will run on a variety of cell phones and provides an even better gmail experience that the mobile browser version (which is pretty good BTW).  I was able to get this installed [...]

Some competition for Google spreadsheets?

October 27th, 2006 · No Comments

This is a really nice app and the guys at Google should take a look before they release their next rev.  I really like the graphing features, especially the fact that you can get a permalink to any completed graph.  Should make web based reporting, really easy. Online Spreadsheets – EditGrid

One for the online toolbox

October 5th, 2006 · 1 Comment

This is a cool app, made even better by being free and online.  One of the things I hate to do is change audio and video files from one format to another.  With Media Convert I can let another machine do the work for me, plus there are way more formats than I could ever [...]

I may finally get a few more converts

September 15th, 2006 · No Comments

I have been using Mind Jet Mind Manager since version 4 and am a very big fan.  I use it almost anytime I need to ‘compose’ something, whether it be a new program plan, a brochure or a presentation.  I have used it a few times as an ongoing program dashboard, but mostly I use [...]
